ABOUT BHUBANESWAR The Temple City of Odisha

Bhubaneswar is an antiquated city arranged in Khordha region of Odisha, India is the capital city of Odisha and furthermore a standout amongst other spots to encounter Odisha Tourism. SHREE JAGANNATH TEMPLE


Constructed during the reign of Anantavarman Chodaganga Deva, the founder of the Ganga dynasty in the early 12th century A.D., the monumental Shree Jagannath Temple occupies the center of the inner courtyard on an elevated platform. Comprising Vimana or Deula (Garbhagriha), Jagamohana, Natamandapa, and Bhogamandapa, the temple’s architectural style is a fusion of two distinct types – Rekha and Pidha. The Vimana follows the nagara type rekha deula design, while the Jagamohana adopts the Pidha deula form. These Caves, Located In The Vicinity Of Bhubaneswar, Have Both Religious And Historic Importance To The State Of Odisha. There Are A Total Of 33 Rock Cuts In These Caves, Out Of Which 18 On The Udayagiri Hills Are Excavated, While The Remaining 15 Are On Khandagiri Hills. There Are Single And Double Storied Caves Here That Represent The Jaina Rock-Cut Architecture.

Lingaraj Temple


Lingaraj Temple is one of the oldest temples in Bhubaneswar, dedicated to the Hindu God Harihara, an avatar of Lord Shiva. It is also one of the oldest and largest temples in Bhubaneswar. This temple was first built by the ruler Jajati Kesari during the 7th century. Lingaraj Temple has a remarkable structure that attracts a vast number of tourists to the city.

Dhauli Giri


Dhauli Giri Lies Across The Daya River And Has The Major Edicts Of Ashoka Engraved On A Mass Of Rock. This Area Is Believed To Be The Battlefield Where Ashoka Had Slain Over 150,000 People. It Is A Pilgrimage Site For Both The Hindus And Buddhists. The Hills Are Dotted With A Number Of Rock-Cut Caves And Temples Along With Numerous Stupas, Pillars, And Monasteries.

Mukteshwar Temple – An Architectural Gem From The 10th Century


Mukteswara is a 10th-century Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. The temple dates back to 950–975 CE and is a monument of importance in the study of the development of Hindu temples in Odisha.

Simlipal National Park


Simlipal National Park Is A National Park And Tiger Reserve In The Mayurbhanj District In The Indian State Of Odisha Covering 2,750 Km2 (1,060 Sq Mi). It Is Part Of The Mayurbhanj Elephant Reserve, Which Includes Three Protected Areas, Similipal Tiger Reserve, Hadgarh Wildlife Sanctury With 191.06 Km2 (73.77 Sq Mi) And Kuldhia Wildlife Sanctuary With 272.75 Km2 (105.31 Sq Mi). Simlipal National Park Derives Its Name From The Abundance Of Red Silk Cotton Trees Growing In The Area.

Nandankanan Zoological Park


Nandankanan Zoological Park is a 1,080-acre zoo and botanical garden located in Barang Village, Odisha, India. Established in 1960, it was opened to the public in 1979 and became the first zoo in India to join (WAZA) in 2009. It also contains a botanical garden and part of it has been declared a sanctuary. Nandankanan, literally meaning “The Garden of Heaven,” is located in the environs of the Chandaka Forest, and includes the 134-acre Kanjia Lake.
